Comparing
Let's practice the important mathematical skill of comparing: Have a look at this picture. Look at the two groups in each, ask your child which group has more.
For example: which has more, the tigers or the snakes?
Your child may respond with 'the snakes' and they are of course correct. Encourage them to use a full sentence by asking them to repeat after you.
'There are more snakes than tigers'
Now try these ones out
Find the odd one out!
Ask your child to find the odd one out in each set. Don't forget to ask them to explain their choice.
